About the role

The Senior Workforce Development Trainer supports employee growth by delivering training programs and workshops for both field and office staff. Topics typically include supervisory skills, work readiness, team collaboration, and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Makes sure training programs are aligned with business needs and subject matter expertise.
  • Monitors training effectiveness through performance outcomes and reports to a manager.
  • Directs new training program design and analyzes session feedback to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Mentors WFD Trainers and Associate WFD Trainers.
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates training programs in areas like Foreman Development Series, Field supervision training, and App-based and software-based training.
  • Promotes the Rosendin Field Operations Manual and internal processes.
  • Coordinates with external consultants or vendors for specialized training.
  • Coordinates recruitment efforts with Marketing and Business Development teams.
  • Attends and coordinates local job and career fairs.
  • Processes field applications and interviews and assesses field applicants.
  • Administers written and hands-on skills assessments.
  • Manages DocuSign paperwork for new hires.
  • Designs onboarding program content and duration based on local needs assessments.
  • Facilitates onboarding sessions focused on culture, safety, and skills.
  • Delivers hands-on training modules for various classifications.
  • Facilitates basic skills training for new industry entrants.
  • Leads bootcamp-style sessions for sub-journeyman level employees.
  • Coordinates and facilitates leadership development training.
  • Promotes Rosendin culture, core values, mission statement, and vision.
  • Pursues & coordinates grant & training reimbursement opportunities.
  • Pursues & coordinates continued education credits (for class participants) as available per location.
  • Tracks & reports training metrics as identified by corporate training or regional leadership.
  • Communicates upcoming schedule & direction with corporate Learning & Development Team.
  • Participates in personal continued education & development as identified by regional management & corporate Learning & Development management.
  • Develops new training content as needed.
  • Participates in peer reviews of newly developed or extensively modified content.
  • Participates in scheduled Workforce Development meetings.
  • Sets up (recommends) LinkedIn Learning paths & content for field employees.
  • Counsels & coaches struggling field employees.
  • Connects field & office teams through joint training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in a training or similar role is preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical construction and contracting.
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of a classroom audience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Able to analyze business and training needs for improvement.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Union experience is preferred.
  • Instructional Design certification is preferred.
  • Presentation skills are preferred.

Schedule

General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
