Senior Workforce Development Trainer

About the role

The Senior Workforce Development Trainer supports employee growth by delivering training programs and workshops for both field and office staff. This role requires a strong understanding of business needs and subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Makes sure training programs are aligned with business needs.
  • Monitors training effectiveness through performance outcomes and reports to a manager.
  • Directs new training program design and analyzes session feedback to make recommendations for improvement to content and presentations.
  • Mentors WFD Trainers and Associate WFD Trainers.
  • Coordinates and/or facilitates Foreman Development Series, Field supervision training, and app-based and software-based training.
  • Promotes the Rosendin Field Operations Manual and internal processes.
  • Coordinates with external consultants or vendors for specialized training.
  • Manages recruitment efforts, interviews and assesses field applicants, and aligns hiring needs with local union representatives.
  • Designs onboarding program content and duration based on local needs assessments.
  • Facilitates onboarding sessions, conducts written and hands-on skills assessments, and manages DocuSign paperwork for new hires.
  • Delivers hands-on training modules for various classifications and leads bootcamp-style sessions for sub-journeyman level employees.
  • Coordinates and facilitates Leadership Development activities.
  • Promotes Rosendin culture, core values, mission statement, and vision.
  • Pursues and coordinates grant and training reimbursement opportunities.
  • Pursues and coordinates continued education credits (for class participants) as available per location.
  • Tracks and reports training metrics as identified by corporate training or regional leadership.
  • Captures participant feedback on training classes via survey.
  • Communicates upcoming schedule and direction with corporate Learning & Development Team.
  • Participates in personal continued education and development as identified by regional management and corporate Learning & Development management.
  • Develops new training content as needed.
  • Participates in peer reviews of newly developed or extensively modified content.
  • Participates in scheduled Workforce Development meetings.
  • Assigns (recommends) LinkedIn Learning paths & content to field employees.
  • Counsels and coaches struggling field employees.
  • Connects field and office teams through joint training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in a training or similar role is preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical construction and contracting.
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of a classroom audience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze business and training needs for improvement.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Union experience is preferred.
  • Instructional Design certification is preferred.
  • Presentation skills are preferred.
