Senior Workday Compensation Analyst - onsite job
About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HRIS Analyst with deep expertise in Workday to join our HRIS team. This is an onsite role in Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX. In this role, you will play a key part in configuring, maintaining, and enhancing Workday Advanced Compensation solutions, delivering HR technology capabilities that streamline processes and support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Workday Advanced Compensation subject matter expert, leading design, configuration, and testing of compensation processes.
- Support planning, execution, and delivery of end-to-end annual and off-cycle compensation cycles.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements to deliver scalable, technology-driven outcomes, ensuring downstream consistency and data integrity.
- Proactively dig beneath stated requests to understand true business objectives and recommend balanced, future-ready solutions.
- Ensure HR processes are thoughtfully designed, fully documented, and consistently executed across all HR systems through close collaboration with HR and HRIT.
- Manage the intake, scoping, and sizing of stakeholder-requested technology enhancements through JIRA, ensuring successful execution of approved changes.
- Evaluate out-of-the-box functionality against business requirements to identify optimal solutions to meet those needs.
- Responsible for analyzing and testing new Workday features, supporting release planning, and taking ownership of unit, regression, pre-launch testing, and sign-off.
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, proactively identifying and recommending improvements to processes, technology, and data quality.
- Provide overall project management oversight for assigned HR system initiatives, leveraging strong planning, execution, and stakeholder management skills.
- Leverage HR and technical expertise to provide consultative guidance, influence solution design, and drive projects from concept through successful implementation.
- Ensure compliance with legal, security, and data governance standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- Over 7+ years of experience as a Workday functional expert in Advanced Compensation (Required).
- Demonstrates strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and perform effectively under tight deadlines; a self-starter who takes initiative and assumes full ownership and accountability.
- Exhibits strong capability to manage competing priorities in a high-demand environment, navigate ambiguous directives, and analyze complex challenges to drive sound solutions.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $122,000.00 - $168,000.00. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
Schedule
This is a full-time role with a time type of full-time employee type assignee/regular. Travel is required, approximately 10% of the time. Relocation is not eligible for this role.
