Accountabilities
- Own the complete lifecycle of annual and off-cycle compensation cycles in Workday, including planning, configuration, testing, execution, auditing, and completion.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Compensation, including salary plans, grade profiles, merit programs, bonus plans, eligibility rules, and advanced compensation functionality.
- Partner with Total Rewards, HR, Finance, Payroll, and business stakeholders to translate compensation strategies into scalable Workday solutions.
- Lead requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and enhancement initiatives related to compensation systems.
- Build and maintain comprehensive test plans, regression testing processes, and documentation to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot complex compensation-related issues and act as an escalation point for People Systems and HR Operations teams.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve compensation workflows, reporting processes, and operational efficiency.
- Create clear documentation, including process guides, configuration materials, and training resources for business users.
- Evaluate Workday roadmap updates and recommend improvements or adoption opportunities within the compensation domain.
- Collaborate across additional Workday modules, including HCM, Payroll, and Benefits, to support broader People Systems priorities and evolving business needs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience, including at least 3+ years specializing in Workday Compensation configuration and administration.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end compensation cycles, including merit reviews, bonuses, equity programs, and related processes.
- Deep knowledge of Workday Compensation functionality, including salary structures, compensation eligibility rules, compensation reviews, and worksheets.
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, HR processes, and employee data management.
- Experience translating complex or ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical configurations.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience using Workday tools such as EIBs, calculated fields, and reporting.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results in a fast-moving environment.
- Working knowledge of related Workday modules such as HCM, Payroll, or Benefits.
- Experience supporting global compensation programs across multiple regions and currencies is a plus.
- Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation, including long-term incentive plans or stock administration, is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
