Senior Vice President, Commercial Lead
About the role
This VP Commercial Lead has primary accountability to meet or exceed business goals for all assigned teams. He/she will play a key leadership role in planning and executing product launch, commercialization, and life-cycle strategies and the implementation of market plans for individual client teams. You will be a dynamic, decisive executive with effective leadership and management skills who can motivate, develop, and lead.
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and direction to maximize business opportunities and work collaboratively with other key internal and external functions to address customer needs.
- Identify, develop, implement, and communicate a framework of goals and tactics that will result in client success.
- Work collaboratively with other Syneos commercial business units.
- Foster innovation and breakthrough thinking across all commercial opportunities, such as digital marketing, market access, and sales approaches and practices.
- Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to execute business plans, develop, and drive commercial strategies necessary to achieve client and product compliant sales goals.
- Build and manage new and current teams across multiple projects, therapeutic areas, and team promotional team types.
- Hire and manage internal National Business Directors in collaboration with commercial operations.
- Participate in business presentations, transition, expectations, and launch meetings to gain customer business and loyalty.
- Exercise sound judgment and ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications.
- Counsel, motivate, and coach field leaders.
- Work closely with Operations to optimize field deployment.
Requirements
- Approximately 15+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry.
- Multiple years across commercial roles, market access, marketing, sales, and operations.
- Experience leading the commercialization of specialty and primary care biopharmaceutical products is required.
- Experience building and managing insourced and outsourced commercial models preferred.
- Superior leadership skills and the ability to keep the team focused on the key metrics that drive business.
- Demonstrated track record of coaching and developing next-generation leaders.
- The proven ability, as supported by superior product/portfolio performance, to translate business goals into specific objectives.
- Understanding of multiple therapeutic and PCP/Specialty markets is a significant advantage.
- Experience leading outsourced sales teams preferred.
- Thorough understanding of reimbursement, distribution, and access.
- Results-oriented and able to thrive within a fast-paced, energized, and entrepreneurial environment.
- Possesses analytical, strategic, business planning, communication, and teamwork/collaboration skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to foster relationships, and the ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Champions continuous learning/knowledge.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical and product launch and mature product experience.
Pay
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $262,601 to $320,600. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and/or individual performance.
