About the role
Western Alliance Bank, Member FDIC, is seeking a Senior Vice President, Commercial Banker - Location: CA - San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Identify a target market for new business and develop and establish a book of new business from those relationships.
- Negotiate, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of a variety of major and complex loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.
- Develop business checking and deposit relationships with customers.
- Assist clients with deposit related products and services.
- Gather and analyze client information to recommend appropriate deposit product solutions.
- Compile and analyze market research data to develop recommendations regarding products and services focused on the needs of the target market.
- Engage in business development activities and solicit new business based on the target market.
- Collaborate closely with treasury partners to ensure seamless client experiences.
- Call and visit target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services to establish a new book of business.
- Develop and maintain customer databases including calls and results on all new business relationships.
- Make reports to superiors as required.
- Interview prospective applicants and request specified information related to loan or credit applications; correspond or re-interview applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
- Perform basic pre-qualification assessments and analyses of financial conditions and risks of financing requests within the framework of the Bank’s credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
- Gather all information necessary to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval; meet with new/potential customers; visit sites of loans; negotiate loan terms and conditions; refer and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
- Care for loans according to agreements, customer needs, and conform to Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solve problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within the Relationship Manager’s portfolio.
- Maintain a superior knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
- Recommend to senior management those products and services experiencing less than satisfactory performance.
- Represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business; assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, and regulations, industry standards, and practices.
- Advanced organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- May require up to 50% travel.

Pay
Salary range for new hires is generally $191,835.00 - $236,971.00 for Pleasanton, CA. Salary amount is determined by specific job location.
