Senior Veterinary Assistant

About the role

The hospital is seeking a Full-Time Senior Veterinary Assistant to provide outstanding patient care and client service.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinarians in the care of animals
• Restraining animals during initial examinations
• Stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies
• Cleaning and sterilizing tools
• Maintaining equipment in working order
• Performing technical skills such as venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia administration, and monitoring
• Administering medications and performing laboratory analysis
• Communicating with clients and updating patient files

Requirements

• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a hands-on environment
• Energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills
• Compassionate/caring
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends
• Can work individually, as well as on a team
• Self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without the need for constant direction
• Prior experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise

• Prior Customer Service Experience
• Able to lift 40 lbs
