This role focuses on operational support and vendor relationship management, ensuring day-to-day oversight and adherence to performance expectations outlined in service level agreements (SLAs), contracts, and governance documents. Hybrid schedule based in Pittsburgh, PA, requiring onsite presence 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
Responsibilities
- Oversee the work of external vendors and take responsibility for their work quality.
- Plan, manage, and oversee all operational support of vendor relationships, collaborating with the client relationship team and vendors to ensure performance meets contractual expectations and future contract negotiation planning.
- Manage operational issues for day-to-day activities, respond to high-priority, complex, and/or escalated vendor requests, and ensure vendors adhere to all SLA metrics.
- Recommend business process improvements with a thorough understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to business needs.
- Represent, engage, and champion operational needs within the governance process to ensure efficient and effective relationship management of services provided.
- Escalate issues to leadership when necessary.
- Coach and develop peers and vendor staff, manage vendor performance and productivity.
- Oversee contracts applicable to team’s vendors, partner with procurement on contract development and renewal, and manage financial reimbursement.
- Ensure documentation of vendor compliance with key contract terms and requirements.
- Responsible for invoice accuracy, payment, and compliance with contractual terms, ensuring desired services were performed.
- Manage budget functions, including compliance with Accounts Payable guidelines, data entry into the Highmark budget system, and communication of monthly actual vs. budget reports to leadership.
- Assist in creating vendor strategy specific to the functional area and operationalize the approach.
- Lead the creation and modification of the operating model by which the company and vendors interact.
- Perform other responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Health Care Management, Economics, or related field. Substitution: 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5 years of experience in Vendor Management, Vendor Operations, Financial Reporting, or Budget Management.
- Preferred: 5 years in the Health Care industry, 1 year in Project Management, or 5 years in an IT or health tech organization.

Schedule
- Hybrid role based in Pittsburgh, PA.
- Onsite 3 days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
