Senior UX Designer, Digital Acceleration
About the role
Join the team that defines user experience for Amazon's Digital products (Kindle, Music, Video, Prime, etc.). The Digital Acceleration team is looking for a Senior UX Designer to lead and raise the UX bar. You will drive customer-obsessed UX that measurably improves our post-purchase experience, influencing efforts across Amazon by defining near and long-term customer experiences for discovering, purchasing, and managing subscriptions and bundles. You will identify, define, and propose new design patterns and features that delight across customer touchpoints.
Working backward from a customer experience North Star, you will collaborate with product and development teams to innovate, implement, and iteratively explore concepts. This role requires conceptual thinking, the ability to analyze and break work into near and long-term phases, and strong stakeholder management skills. You will synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs to deliver innovative features addressing unmet customer needs while considering technical feasibility.
Responsibilities
- Bring a strong, customer-obsessed point of view.
- Synthesize consumer insights, business opportunities, product analytics, and competitive intelligence into scalable concepts.
- Lead design activities such as brainstorming, user testing, and iteration to turn concepts into tangible solutions.
- Create design artifacts like user flows, wireframes, visual mocks, and prototypes to communicate ideas.
- Independently present work, socialize ideas, and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers throughout all stages of product development to ship results.
- Work with the team to identify and track success metrics for design.
Requirements
- 8+ years of design experience.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
- Available online portfolio.
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes.
- Prototyping experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.
Pay
Base salary range: $137,800.00 - $186,400.00 USD annually (Bellevue, WA). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
