Senior UX Designer
About the role
The Senior UX Designer plays a pivotal role in the Safety & Industrial Business Group, collaborating with innovative colleagues worldwide. This position offers a unique opportunity to transition from other professional backgrounds to a 3M career.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the SIBG Design System in collaboration with the broader UX/UI Design team and corporate team.
- Define clear design objectives based on inputs, leading the Design and stakeholder resources through scoping, designing, user testing, and executing quality deliverables with high autonomy.
- Maintain a deep understanding of brand and 3M guidelines, ensuring accurate implementation in each design or design-research project.
- Participate in design and design research activities to continuously learn and apply new skills, inspiring both UX solutions and product roadmaps.
- Partner with user testing and research resources to maintain a steady flow of diverse user insights that can inform both UX solutions and product roadmaps.
- Champion digital capabilities and UX value creation with various stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (verified prior to start)
- Two (2) years of experience in UX Design, Design Research, and/or UI Design in a private, public, government, or military environment
- One (1) year experience designing for web and native apps (iOS or Android)
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Design Systems and their creation, architecture, and maintenance
- Understanding of agentic AI programs in UX deliverables and product release
- Consistent work experience with diverse teams and stakeholders overseeing high-value brands
- Demonstrated ability in quality deliverables and a passion for design details
- Strong communication, influence, and strategic thinking skills to articulate design proposals and advocate for better user experience

Pay & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $109,202 - $133,469, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Specific compensation may vary based on factors including relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience. More information is available at this link.
