R E S P O N S I B I L I T Y S
- Aid in identifying, communicating, and resolving utility conflicts on various infrastructure projects.
- Create and update Utilities by Others (UbO) Plans and utility designs based on utility owner inputs and project manager direction.
- Type, format, and organize project documents, reports, specifications, and correspondence.
- Create and maintain paper and electronic files.
- Apply company and NCDOT Quality Assurance guidelines and procedures.
- Conduct meetings and presentations.
- Manage and coordinate Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations, schedules, and submittals.
- Frequent verbal and written communication with project managers, clients, and utility owners to ensure project schedules are met and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Work independently and with project teams to meet client needs and objectives.
- Review and perform Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) of utility company agreements, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and invoices to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and requirements.
- Perform utility records research, obtain utility company contacts, prepare contact ledgers, and track utility conflicts.
- Prepare client deliverables, utility exhibits, project guides, project reviews, project invoices, and expense reports as needed.
- Travel for project site visits as required.
Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the utility coordination industry, preferably with NCDOT experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding civil transportation engineering design plans and utility installation and adjustment plans.
- Ability to transition between multiple projects and tasks.
- Basic MicroStation/Open Roads experience (required).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Scheduling and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma; associate's degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
