Senior User Experience Researcher

About the role

We are seeking a Senior User Experience Researcher to shape and optimize the digital banking experience. This role involves leading research initiatives, translating business and user questions into actionable insights, and influencing strategic outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Leverage experimentation, analytics, behavioral analysis, and causal inference to uncover customer insights and drive product decisions.
• Partner closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure a user-centered approach across the organization.
• Understand how new consumers and business customers approach search, evaluation, and selection of a banking solution.
• Strategically negotiate design solutions in relation to business goals.
• Help organizations understand customer use preferences and needs by analyzing "Voice of the Customer."
• Design and facilitate research programs, analyze data to deliver unique insights.
• Connect research questions and insights to intuitive designs and support strategy and product development.
• Collaborate with Design, Marketing, Product, and Technology stakeholders both inside and outside the team.
• Define and execute a comprehensive research plan.
• Identify best methods or mixes of quantitative and qualitative methods based on priorities, research questions, timeline, and resourcing.
• Collect and analyze user behavior through various methods including lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs, and online experiments.
• Identify and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research and advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
• Develop budgets and timelines for research projects.
• Present findings to designers, developers, and other stakeholders and conclude on the action plan.

Requirements

• Foundational level of proficiency in transdisciplinary thinking.
• Intermediate level of proficiency in creative thinking, emotional agility, verbal and written communication, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Advanced level of proficiency in user research, research, information synthesis, and data analysis, user behavior, user experience (UX) design, design thinking, customer centricity.
• Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Qualifications

• Salary range: $88,800.00 - $165,600.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
