Senior Underwriter, North America Fronting
About the role
The Senior Underwriter, North America Fronting position at AIG plays a pivotal role in supporting and servicing complex fronting accounts. The main focus is on verifying program structure and reinsurer details, ensuring compliance, and managing account-related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Captive Solutions Fronting Team and liaise with Product pillars to verify program structure and reinsurer details.
- Collaborate with support teams such as Legal, Actuarial, Credit & Collateral Management to ensure fronting deals are fully compliant.
- Once bound, gather all necessary program details and reinsurance documentation.
- Perform sanctions and screening checks.
- Support Associate Underwriters in completing booking and coding on accounts.
- Ensure prompt and accurate cash collections and transfers to captives/reinsurers aligned with bookings.
- Resolve account-related inquiries from internal peers and/or clients/brokers within scope; escalate to leadership if needed.
- Make independent sales calls to market and cross-market products.
- Refer declined business to other AIG divisions as appropriate.
- Participate in client (internal/external) conference calls.
- Prepare for and assist in responding to all captive audits.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Excellent communication skills, articulate and personable, with the ability to interact with clients and brokers.
- Proactive, highly motivated, organized, self-sufficient, and capable of working independently under minimal supervision.
- Strong time management skills, able to meet deadlines and respond flexibly to client needs and program requirements.
- Ability to manage by influence, demonstrating strong communication, relationship management, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Adaptable to a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, capable of delivering results and collaborating with a diverse range of colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and work with analytical tools, reports, and technology.
- Computer literacy required: Microsoft IT packages preferred – MS Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.
Qualifications

For positions in Boston, the base salary range is $80,000-$100,000, with eligibility for a bonus based on performance. For positions in New York, the base salary range is also $80,000-$100,000, with similar bonus eligibility.
