About the role
This position is responsible for leading and directing the Tyson Transportation fleet to achieve business and financial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Driver management
- On-time service management
- Asset utilization
- Driver safety and compliance
- Load assignment and selection
- Trailer pool plan execution
- Driver expense management
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3+ years Tyson transportation experience preferred
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office is a plus; Tyson Business Computer Systems including Sale Inventory, SAP Transportation, and Warehousing Systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Acts as a team leader providing functional supervision (assigning work, training lower-level positions)
- 1–5 domestic trips per year
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
