About the role
The Senior Transportation Engineer (Senior TE) under the direction of the Office Chief of Program/Project Management (PPM) is responsible for leading, supervising, and managing the Project Management Support Unit (PMSU).
Responsibilities
- Provides guidance to TE Civil and Range-D engineers.
- Focal point for project closeouts, value analysis, federal project inactivity, and freeway maintenance agreement coordination.
- Works independently and directly with D8 Budgets/Project Control, District Management, HQ, federal, local agencies and personnel.
Requirements
The Senior TE must possess a valid Professional Engineer (Civil) license issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
Qualifications
The Senior TE must have knowledge and experience of the project development process for transportation projects, project closeout activities, and the ability to supervise, coach, mentor, and direct the work of multi-disciplinary staff.
Skills
Experience communicating internally with project managers, functions, and Caltrans Divisions and externally with local agencies, Regional Transportation Planning Agencies (RTPS) or Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs).
