About the role
A Senior Traffic Engineer is needed to lead traffic engineering production, support project development, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day traffic engineering production, assigning tasks and maintaining schedule and quality to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulations, and conceptual designs
- Perform detailed QA/QC reviews of deliverables prior to submittals
- Support the development of technical approaches on projects
- Ensure compliance with GDOT standards and requirements
- Develop and track scope, schedule, and budget; proactively identify and communicate risks or issues to the PM
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers to support team performance and development
- Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines on larger projects that require traffic engineering services
- Coordinate effectively with clients and subconsultants
- Represent AECOM at stakeholder meetings and public engagements
Requirements
- Minimum : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline
- 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Qualifications
- Preferred: 12 years of relevant experience
- Experience in an applicable industry and GDOT standards, regulations, and guidelines, including MUTCD and traffic analysis software
- Experience and training with the GDOT Plan Development Process
- Experience with the GDOT Pedestrian and Streetscape Guide and similar documents
- Experience producing technical memos and reports
- Experience presenting to clients and/or stakeholders
Skills
- Strong technical skills in traffic engineering
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in traffic analysis software

$150,000 to $190,000 annually
