About the role

A Senior Traffic Engineer is needed to lead traffic engineering production, support project development, and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day traffic engineering production, assigning tasks and maintaining schedule and quality to deliver traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulations, and conceptual designs
  • Perform detailed QA/QC reviews of deliverables prior to submittals
  • Support the development of technical approaches on projects
  • Ensure compliance with GDOT standards and requirements
  • Develop and track scope, schedule, and budget; proactively identify and communicate risks or issues to the PM
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers to support team performance and development
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines on larger projects that require traffic engineering services
  • Coordinate effectively with clients and subconsultants
  • Represent AECOM at stakeholder meetings and public engagements

Requirements

  • Minimum : Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline
  • 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Georgia or the ability to obtain within 6 months

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 12 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in an applicable industry and GDOT standards, regulations, and guidelines, including MUTCD and traffic analysis software
  • Experience and training with the GDOT Plan Development Process
  • Experience with the GDOT Pedestrian and Streetscape Guide and similar documents
  • Experience producing technical memos and reports
  • Experience presenting to clients and/or stakeholders

Skills

  • Strong technical skills in traffic engineering
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis software

$150,000 to $190,000 annually
