Senior Test Technician
Job Responsibilities
- Apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi-system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, at the board and system level.
- Perform functional test procedures that verify PCB and system fit, form, and functionality.
- Select, set up, and deploy complex and specialized equipment/facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.
- Verify and validate product configuration, test processes, and test equipment/setup configuration and operation.
- Measure, collect, and record performance data that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function; prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
- Program and verify devices.
- Troubleshoot systems, devices, processes, and/or test setups to locate and repair defective areas.
- Assist engineers in submission of processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc.; make necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.
- Perform initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; submit recommendations for modifications as required to achieve desired results.
- Submit defects reporting, non-conforming materials reports, and communicate with production team in resolution of defects/product failures.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Performs complex testing and moderate problem solving on digital systems and subassemblies.
- Sold understanding of manufacturing quality standards and can read schematics or other technical data as needed.
- Able to prepare complex test reports and data in accordance with functional and acceptance level test procedures, may be requested to assist with red-lining of existing functional testing procedures.
- Performs complex testing; Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests.
- Troubleshoots and is able to determine root cause for issues with assemblies, debugging of moderate to complex problems.
- Uses a variety of test equipment; including oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, serial emulators, networking devices, and other tools found in a testing laboratory to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products.
- Works with others in team environment to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Ideal candidates will have the ability to communicate with other team members and associated parties in a thorough and timely manner.
- Knowledge of practical applications of engineering and technology, able to apply principles, techniques, and procedures to manufacturing processes, knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency within manufacturing.
- Able to read and perform test procedures and communicate effectively in the event of potential issues.
- Able to determine root cause(s) of operating errors and methodologies used to resolve them; able to apply logic and reason to identify complex problems and develop solutions, able to predict how changes in operations and process flow will affect manufacturing efficiencies and quality of finished product.
- Able to read and interpret complex schematics and functional/diagnostic specifications for determining root cause of failures in test environment.
- Training: Able to maintain training to applicable equipment and procedures as assigned per job title.
- Microsoft Office suite skills are a must.
Preferred Qualification
- Factory Logix, Oracle, Xilinx Suites, Dediprog, ProComm, SecureCRT, TeraTerm application knowledge is a plus.
Pay & Benefits
Salary Range for this position: $44,000.00 - $88,000.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees $49,300.00 - $98,600.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA $51,900.00 - $103,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ, Mercury considers a variety of factors to determine individual base salary offers to candidates, including: the role and related responsibilities; prior work experience; education, training, skills and certifications; internal equity with others employed by Mercury in similar roles; geographic location; and alignment with market data.
