Senior Test Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute Upwing’s extensive test program through the hardware development lifecycle, including prototyping and delivery/installation.
• Safely test full electromechanical systems and subsystems consisting of motors, compressors, pumps and bearings, following methods, procedures, standards and sequences.
• Complete test setups and instrumentation, run and observe tests and acquire/record the necessary test data for analysis by engineering.
• Avoidance of work independently troubleshooting to the component level, assist in data reporting, including observations, anomalies and configuration changes.
• Provide feedback on integration and test to improve processes and designs.
• Perform testing according to standardized procedures to ensure products meet customer specifications and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Record and document all test results accurately and comprehensively, ensuring proper control of test records in compliance with ISO 9001 documentation requirements.

Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities

• Minimum of 6 years of experience testing turbomachinery equipment.
• Experience working with high voltage systems.
• Experience interpreting and using measurement equipment, including but not limited to prox. probes, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, load cells and flow meters.
• Experience with computerized data acquisition and data reduction (LabVIEW preferred).
• Computer knowledge and the ability to read, write and comprehend schematics (electrical, plumbing and instrumentation) and assembly drawings.
• Experienced in mechanical lifting and handling.
• Knowledgeable of OSHA compliance, process safety management and risk assessment.
• Experience plumbing and operating hydraulic systems is a plus.
• Experience laying out and wiring data acquisition systems.
• Forklift and crane certification is a plus.
