We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Test Systems Technician to support, repair, and maintain a wide range of electrical and electro-mechanical test equipment that keeps our aerospace and defense facility running at peak performance. Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and preventive maintenance on electrical and electro-mechanical test systems.
  • Execute advanced fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance activities across a wide array of electrical and electromechanical equipment.
  • Perform detailed diagnostics using oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, specialized electronic test instruments, and other advanced test hardware; isolate faults down to the component level using schematics and technical prints.
  • Drive component-level corrective actions, including identifying required replacement parts, sourcing or ordering components, and validating corrective work through functional testing.
  • Develop and refine maintenance procedures, repair instructions, and troubleshooting workflows that improve equipment uptime and repeatability.
  • Learn and operate all assigned test machines; perform maintenance and repair of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical subsystems to ensure test station availability.
  • Efficiently configure and instrument test stations according to engineering or divisional specifications, ensuring test integrity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with electronic and electro-mechanical test systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in all types of electronic test equipment and using schematics.
  • Experience identifying failure root cause of equipment down to the component level.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industrial PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with LabView and/or Visual Basic.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $114,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
