IMEG is a leading design consulting firm with over 3000 employees across the US. We are passionate about our work and value our team members' contributions to our success. We are looking for a Senior Technology Designer to join our Columbus, OH office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
  • Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software.
  • Perform site assessments and generate technical reports.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical information.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
  • Provide in-process design reviews and technical assistance in resolving field issues.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering.
  • Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
  • Participate in project interviews and presentations.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
  • Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings.
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills.
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise.
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required.
  • 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.
  • 11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry.

Skills

Pay

$107,000 - $149,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.

Schedule

Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds. Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull. Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
