Senior Technology Designer

About the role

IMEG is a leading design consulting firm with over 3000 employees across the United States. We are seeking a Senior Technology Designer for our Columbus, OH office. This position offers a dynamic environment where you can lead design efforts, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to innovative projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
• Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software.
• Interact with clients to understand their needs and communicate technical information effectively.
• Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
• Provide in-process design reviews and technical assistance in resolving field issues.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology engineering.
• Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
• Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications.
• Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings.
• Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills.
• Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required.
• 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.
• 11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $107,000 - $149,000, with individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additional rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.

Schedule

This position requires regular travel up to 20%, with occasional overnight stays.
