Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair within our facilities' Refrigeration HVAC equipment team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair Work Orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines by following Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Requirements

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s degree in A/C and refrigeration.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Prior work experience with Glycol and CO2 systems.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances (e.g., based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed). Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
