About the Role

Anduril is seeking a technical writer to partner with our intelligence systems engineering team to generate and maintain engineering and developer-focused technical documentation. The team strongly believes that documentation is a key part of the product development process. In this role, you will work closely with developers and users to understand how products are developed, identify gaps in understanding, and use documentation to close those gaps. You will play a foundational role in setting the tone and quality bar for written artifacts.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, review, and edit documentation that is user-focused and of the highest quality, covering the full development lifecycle – from planning and design to technical configuration, deployment, and integration.
  • Work with engineering to ship user-friendly documentation that informs, instructs, and contributes to a robust user experience.
  • Contribute to Anduril’s technical writing toolkit, including style guides, documentation lifecycle, and review processes.
  • Build partnerships across the business to understand users and products.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of demonstrated excellence generating technical documentation for various levels of technical audiences and product types.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret software and hardware user documentation for complex technical products and highly structured certification processes.
  • Writing Ability: Proven clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication skills for diverse audiences, from highly technical to layperson.
  • Mission-First Mindset: Prioritize customer needs and the mission, motivated by evolving national and allied defense capabilities.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in unstructured environments, work independently, solve vague technical problems, and drive tasks to completion without constant supervision.
  • Collaboration & Low-Ego: Collaborate closely with engineering, subject matter experts (SMEs), and program management to translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
  • Passion and Curiosity: Passion for excellent documentation and user experience, combined with curiosity for new technology.
  • Development Skills: Basic development proficiency, applying software development best practices to documentation systems.
  • Personal Responsibility: Thrive with high autonomy, managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
  • Clearance: Currently possess and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using, evaluating, and implementing modern software and automation tools for high-volume technical writing (e.g., Docs-as-Code, Sphinx, VS Code, Git, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office Suite).
  • Willingness to streamline or augment existing processes and products using artificial intelligence.
