About the Company

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI‑powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About the Team

Anduril Intelligence Systems (AIS) focuses on positioning Anduril as a lead provider of specialized engineering and products for Intelligence Community (IC) customers. The team works within the IC to understand requirements, shape concepts of operation, and deliver exquisite capability across their problem set, developing and deploying critically needed capabilities that address the most pressing national security requirements.

About the Role

Anduril is seeking a Technical Writer to partner with the intelligence systems engineering team to generate and maintain engineering and developer‑focused technical documentation. The role involves working closely with developers and users to understand product development and usage, identifying gaps in understanding, and using documentation to close those gaps. The Technical Writer will set the tone and quality bar on written artifacts, ensuring front‑line decision makers have the best tools and information possible about Anduril systems.

Responsibilities

  • Generate, review, and edit user‑focused documentation of the highest quality, covering the full development lifecycle—from planning and design to technical configuration, deployment, and integration.
  • Work with engineering to ship user‑friendly documentation that informs, instructs, and contributes to a robust user experience.
  • Contribute to Anduril’s technical writing toolkit, including style guides, documentation lifecycle processes, and review procedures.
  • Build partnerships across the business to understand users and products, collaborating with engineering staff, subject‑matter experts, and program management.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of demonstrated excellence generating technical documentation for various technical audiences and product types.
  • Ability to read and interpret software and hardware user documentation for complex technical products and a highly structured certification process.
  • Proven clear and persuasive writing and in‑person communication skills for audiences ranging from extremely technical to lay persons.
  • Mission‑first mindset: prioritize customer and mission needs, motivated by evolving national and allied defense capabilities.
  • Adaptability: thrive in unstructured environments, self‑starter who can work independently, solve vague technical problems, and drive tasks to completion without constant supervision.
  • Collaboration & low‑ego: work closely with engineering, SMEs, and program management to translate complex concepts into clear, user‑friendly documentation.
  • Passion and curiosity for excellent documentation, user experience, and new technology.
  • Basic development proficiency: apply software development best practices to documentation systems.
  • Personal responsibility: manage competing demands and tight deadlines with high autonomy.
  • Willingness to streamline or augment existing processes and products using artificial intelligence.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance (must be maintained).
  • Subject to pre‑employment and randomized substance screening as required by the company.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using, evaluating, and implementing modern software and automation tools to manage high‑volume technical writing requirements.
  • Familiarity with Docs‑as‑Code, Sphinx, VS Code, basic command‑line skills, and Git (or other source‑control systems).
  • Mastery of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range

US Salary Range: $112,000 — $149,000 (base salary only). Actual offer may vary based on experience, education, critical skills, and business considerations.
