Senior Technical Specialist (RCRA)

Responsibilities

• Serves as a fully capable professional in the field with minimal direction.
• Applies advanced knowledge to develop design procedures, software, and tools to facilitate high quality cost-effective technical project activities.
• Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Manages communication and collaboration with full design team and client.
• Collaborates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
• Oversees the development and implementation of technical approach and the completion of complex work which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
• Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings.
• Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
• Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
• May oversee the work of less experienced designers.
• Maintains regular and frequent contact with clients to ensure client needs are met.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
• Successful candidate will have to pass client required drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
• 8+ years of experience supporting RCRA regulatory compliance, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting projects.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste regulations, including RCRA corrective action and compliance programs.
• Experience serving industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or federal government clients.
• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary environmental projects, including technical oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
• Professional certification such as CHMM, PE, PG, or other relevant environmental credential preferred.
