About the role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist (RCRA) to support our Environmental business line. This role involves serving as a senior technical leader, applying advanced knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and hazardous waste regulations to deliver complex environmental projects for industrial, commercial, and federal clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a fully capable professional in the field with minimal direction.
  • Applies advanced knowledge to develop design procedures, software, and tools to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective technical project activities.
  • Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Manages communication and collaboration with full design team and client.
  • Conducts interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of technical approach and the completion of complex work which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings.
  • Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
  • May oversee the work of less experienced designers.
  • Maintains client relationships and ensures client needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience supporting RCRA regulatory compliance, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting projects.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste regulations, including RCRA corrective action and compliance programs.
  • Experience serving industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or federal government clients.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary environmental projects, including technical oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
  • Professional certification such as CHMM, PE, PG, or other relevant environmental credential preferred.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $140000 to $180000 per year.
