About the role
AECOM is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist (RCRA) to support our Environmental business line. This role involves serving as a senior technical leader, applying advanced knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and hazardous waste regulations to deliver complex environmental projects for industrial, commercial, and federal clients.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a fully capable professional in the field with minimal direction.
- Applies advanced knowledge to develop design procedures, software, and tools to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective technical project activities.
- Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Manages communication and collaboration with full design team and client.
- Conducts interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Oversees the development and implementation of technical approach and the completion of complex work which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings.
- Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
- May oversee the work of less experienced designers.
- Maintains regular contact with clients and oversees all aspects of the project to ensure client needs are met.
Qualifications
- BA/BS and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Successful candidate will have to pass client required drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
- 8+ years of experience supporting RCRA regulatory compliance, hazardous waste management, and environmental permitting projects.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste regulations, including RCRA corrective action and compliance programs.
- Experience serving industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or federal government clients.
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary environmental projects, including technical oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
- Professional certification such as CHMM, PE, PG, or other relevant environmental credential preferred.
