Senior Technical Accountant
About the role
This position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) to provide guidance to core areas of the Company’s accounting function, including close and consolidation, general ledger, intercompany accounting, internal controls, external audits, technical accounting, and financial reporting. Through controls and regular performance analysis, you will ensure the quality and accuracy of financial management throughout the organization. You will partner with cross-functional and related party teams to ensure that appropriate accounting principles are applied accurately and consistently.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of accounting close and consolidation, ensuring timely and accurate accounting over all aspects of the general ledger.
- Manage intercompany transactions and ensure all intercompany transactions are correctly recorded and eliminated.
- Prepare financial statements for Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc. (LCE) leadership and Business Unit Reviews (BUR).
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Prepare quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements.
- Work closely with the Oracle financial system team to assist in the continual improvement of the accounting and reporting process.
- Assist in the review of internal accounting controls, including ongoing collaboration with LCE compliance team and Ilitch Holdings Incorporated (IHI) internal audit.
- Research and provide recommendations on new and/or complex accounting transactions.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting and implementation of new pronouncements impacting the accounting and financial reporting of LCE, Little Caesars Supply Chain, and Little Caesars Fundraising (LCF).
- Provide financial counsel, advice, and knowledge internally at all levels when evaluating potential decisions that may have a significant impact on the business.
- Assist in the analysis of information to offer insights on business processes.
- Participate in the creation, modification, and documentation of the implementation of accounting and accounting control/auditing procedures and processes.
- Coordinate with IHI tax team to assist in the analysis of tax matters impacting the Company’s financial reporting.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA and demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP Financial Statement Preparation/Technical Accounting Research.
- Demonstrated technical accounting knowledge and application.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or finance.
- Strong working knowledge of intercompany accounting and eliminations.
- Evidence of well-developed interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Evidence of a successful track record with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities with a results-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a role with a QSR or a similar (franchise) environment.
- Public accounting/auditing experience.
- Proficient in Oracle or similar financial accounting and consolidation system.
Work Environment
Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust, and the like. Traditional office environment.
