Senior Accountant

Salary Range: $85k-$100k + Bonus Finvisor is a startup-focused, full-service firm that performs accounting, AP/AR, payroll, forecasting, CFO, and controller services. Our team supports the fastest-growing and most exciting startups in the U.S. and around the world. We manage our clients’ financial operations, allowing them to focus on growing their product and business. This Senior Accountant role supports our Accounting Manager and Controller-level team with day-to-day accounting needs. This position involves supporting the accounting department, managing 15 mid- to large-sized clients, handling client engagements with C-level executives, providing technical support, reviewing monthly closes, and closing the books for a portion of our client base.This is a fast-paced and dynamic position that involves a high level of cross-functional interaction with our entire team. You would work closely with our accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable team members. Primary responsibilities include:Define and implement rigorous accounting processes and controlsPerform all general ledger functions: revenue recognition, accounting for prepaid expenses, short and long-term investments, accrued liabilities, inventory tracking, depreciation and amortization, equity, and interest income and expenseReview of monthly client closesManage all accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, cash flow management and financial reportingDevelop revenue recognition and other accounting policies, processes, and internal controls, consistent with GAAPEnsure accurate and timely development of financial statements, offer insights on technical accounting areas, including footnotes, disclosures, and audit responses as neededIdentify inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunitiesEnsure accurate and timely tax filings and payments to Federal, State, and Local tax agencies Qualifications:Current CPA designation or equivalent experienceFour plus years of experienceIn-depth knowledge of GAAP, including preparation of audited GAAP financial statements (IFRS is also a plus)Good written and verbal communication skills are a must, with an emphasis on clear and sensitive responses to client inquiries and escalationsEntrepreneurial spirit with a resourceful nature, team-first attitude, and problem-solving natureAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects while simultaneously meeting company goals and deadlinesIn-depth knowledge and direct experience working with accounting systems (any one or more of: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, optionally Sage Intacct)In-depth knowledge and direct experience working with payroll processing systems is a plus (any one or more of: Gusto, ADP, Paychex, Rippling, QBO, Intuit)Intermediate/advanced in Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and Microsoft ExcelStrong desire to tackle new challenges and projects with enthusiasm Benefits:Benefits: medical, dental, vision; 401(k) matchExciting client base and close company culture Why work at Finvisor?
