Senior Team Lead, QA & Testing Automation Practice

Responsibilities

  • Serve as thought leader and practitioner, understanding the needs and constraints of the business, making complex decisions, and creating new and different approaches when necessary to achieve Quality of Delivery.
  • Determine the needs and conditions to be met by the Application to fulfill the business’ expectations and requirements.
  • Evaluate the capabilities, performances, dependability, and predictability of the software application.
  • Build and lead the team that will manage the testing and define the testbed / toolset to achieve the goals for the practice and each project.
  • Define the scope and requirements of testing by Sprint, MVP, and overall deployment.
  • Ensure systemic testing and engage with automation of testing whenever appropriate.
  • Ensure that the testing of the application at each gate / iteration / milestone is sufficient to ensure quality and usability of the application.
  • Verifies that the testing is effective and provide meaningful validation of quality and fitness.
  • Orchestrate the testing between testing teams and associate partners (functional leaders, stakeholders, users).
  • Coordinate / define the UAT approach, train, and coach Users on UAT protocols and provide infrastructure and support of UAT.
  • Establish the foundation for continuous testing leveraging DevOps, CI/CD, and Release protocols.
  • Provide guidance for the resolution of defects, dependencies, problems, and issues resulting from test runs or preventing testing to occur.
  • Formulate concise recommendations and solutions with attention to a client’s needs, capabilities, and limitations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent working experience).
  • Superior understanding of large projects / program management, data, and workflow integrations with third parties and the complexity of business application testing and acceptance.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience as testing / QA Lead or UAT Manager.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming / scripting language; working knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of at least one database management system and EDW architecture, along with crisp understanding of data mapping.
  • Familiarity with web design, UI and CX and workflow management.
  • Familiarity with testing and test case management platforms / tools, e.g., Selenium, PractiTest, LoadRunner, etc. and automation and obfuscation / anonymization tools.
  • Operational fluency with project management software; working knowledge of Azure DevOps, and common PM software (e.g.: Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive and tools, videoconferencing, and chat tools.
  • Understanding of financial applications context, including regulatory, lending origination, home improvement financing, B2B2C model.
  • Mental agility, critical thinking skills, and comfort with complexity and scrutinizing problems, and making fresh connections with the ability to make them understandable to others.
  • Ability to work independently with self-motivation; driven by challenges and motivated by achievement in the face of obstacles.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
