Software Test Automation and QA Developer, Senior

We’re looking for a developer with the advanced skills needed to build test automation and high-quality software from vision to production-ready system, and to help mature software development processes and platforms to a DevOps posture, enabled by modern technologies.
This role is more than just coding. We need a software developer who will use their passion for secure, quality software and modern development practices to learn new tools and techniques, including using approved AI tools to recommend and implement DevOps software process improvements, automate testing, configure tools to support secure software QA, and mentor teammates.
Responsibilities
- Build test frameworks, test automation software, and secure software solutions that provide data transport and Zero Trust capabilities to support customer missions using tools like GitLab, ReST, FastAPI, Python, Java, and VS Code.
- Support modernization and redesign of legacy workflows using AI software tools.
- Leverage communications skills to coordinate with team members and customers in a fast-paced mission environment and collaborate within the Atlassian Suite of tools.
- Analyze the needs and environment to ensure the solution considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.
- Implement DevOps software process improvements and automate testing.
- Configure tools to support secure software QA.
- Mentor teammates on modern development practices and tools.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience developing software in Python and Linux.
- 3+ years of experience with software testing, including automated testing.
- Experience with Java, JSON, and VS Code.
- Experience with Docker or Podman.
- Experience with multiple frameworks or tools such as Git, Pydantic, FastAPI, or ReST.
- Experience implementing version control approaches in software pipelines.
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or an Engineering field and 5+ years of experience with software, database engineering, or software testing, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills
- Playwright (nice to have).
- Automating software processes with Salt or other automation platforms (nice to have).
- Leading small technical or software development teams (nice to have).
- Working with Atlassian Suite and in the Agile software lifecycle, including Kanban approach (nice to have).
- Front-end development (nice to have).
- Modular design, middleware, or microservices (nice to have).

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Schedule
Work model expectations:
- Remote: Generally remote, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as required by the role.
- Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.
Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
