Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a sophisticated client base consisting primarily of high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses. This role requires strong technical expertise in complex individual taxation, proactive tax planning capabilities, and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor while managing client relationships and mentoring staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review complex individual, trust, estate, and related entity tax returns (Forms 1040, 1041, partnerships, and S corporations).
- Provide proactive tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals and multi-generational families.
- Advise clients on income tax, estate and gift tax, wealth transfer, and trust planning strategies.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of high-value clients.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues and communicate recommendations clearly to clients.
- Cook up tax engagements, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality client service.
- Mentor, develop, and review the work of tax staff and senior accountants.
- Identify opportunities to improve client tax positions and enhance firm service offerings.
Qualifications
- CPA required.
- 8+ years of public accounting tax experience, including significant experience with high-net-worth individuals and trusts.
- Proficiency in tax research tools and software (e.g., CCH Axcess).
- Strong technical knowledge of individual, fiduciary, estate, and gift taxation.
- Pioneering experience reviewing complex tax returns and delivering sophisticated tax planning strategies.
- Excellent client relationship, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience in a CPA firm environment required.
