Responsibilities

  • Involves in all aspects of US federal and state income tax compliance, including reviewing corporate federal and state tax returns, calculating and overseeing federal and state income tax payments, and preparing and reviewing tax journal entries.
  • Supports and reviews the accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, including annual tax provision, assumptions, analyses, and financial statement disclosures.
  • Assists with R&D credit studies and responds to federal and state tax notices and supports income tax audits as necessary.
  • Manages and reviews the co-sourced preparation and filing of state and local sales and use tax returns across all U.S. jurisdictions, oversees state and local sales and use tax audits and inquiries, and maintains oversight of real and personal property tax reporting, payments, and audits.
  • Analyzes income tax and indirect tax implications of business transactions, identifies tax planning, risk mitigation, and cash tax savings opportunities, and works with leadership and advisors to implement solutions.
  • Serves as a technical resource and provides informal training to internal finance and accounting teams.
  • Manages and optimizes the use of tax technology tools, develops and maintains tax policies, procedures, and documentation, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of tax processes.
  • Develops, mentors, and provides guidance to other members of the tax team and supports corporate governance and internal control objectives through disciplined documentation, risk assessment, and control execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years of progressive tax experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or a large, multi-state or multinational corporate tax environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with U.S. income tax compliance and ASC 740.
  • Deep knowledge of state and local and indirect taxes, including sales and use, property, nexus, and state income taxes.
  • GAAP knowledge and experience supporting financial reporting and controls.
  • Experience with D365, SureTax, and OTP strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise independent judgment, and dive into technical details when needed.
