Senior Tax Manager
Job Details
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Senior Tax Manager to join our Accounting and Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients. This includes the preparation and review of tax returns and implementation of tax planning strategies. You will also be responsible for managing relationships with clients and providing expert tax advice. This is a permanent position that offers an excellent opportunity for leadership and career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Cook up complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries.
- Handle ad hoc regulatory filings and investor packages.
- Manage risk analysis and partner transfers.
- Oversee the preparation and review of W-9 and W-8 forms.
- Handle property tax filings and real estate tax matters.
- Provide expert advice on international tax, 1120s, 1031 Exchange, and S Corp.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for clients.
- Manage and develop staff members by providing timely feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax practices and changes in tax law.
- Provide exceptional client service by managing, developing and building client relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience with emphasis on taxation, preferably within a Big 4 firm.
- Extensive experience with partnership tax, real estate tax, and asset management.
- Proficiency in tax software and technology.
- Strong experience in managing multiple client engagements and teams.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a professional demeanor.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
