Senior Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and support federal, state, and local tax filings, with an emphasis on multi-state income/franchise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts, property tax, and other jurisdiction-specific returns.
• Cook up with external tax advisors to support compliance, research, and tax planning initiatives.
• Aid with tax provisions, audit support, and related documentation.
• Monitor and interpret changes in tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support the integration of newly acquired entities from a tax compliance perspective.
• Partner cross-functionally with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate tax reporting and alignment with financial close processes.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation to enhance tax controls and efficiency as the organization scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience, with significant exposure to multi-state tax compliance in a multi-entity or growth-oriented organization.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance requirements.
• Experience working with external auditors or tax advisors.
• Proficient in accounting software and tax reporting tools. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel capabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $115,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
• This position may also be eligible to participate in Lakefield’s annual incentive bonus program, subject to eligibility and plan terms.
