About the role

In this role, you are responsible for the design and development of a broad scope of Talent Management programs to meet business needs and HR priorities across a global organization. You will lead and collaborate on agile problem-solving teams to design and develop solutions for talent management programs, which may include pipeline programs (early, mid, senior career), competencies and career pathing, learning and development, organizational design, organizational development, or performance management. Your work will positively impact Talent Management efforts at Bechtel to be forward-thinking, competitive, and effective.

Major Responsibilities

  • Acts as project manager for assigned programs, translating high-level strategy and conceptual design into detailed program design, including work where requirements are still forming and the path forward must be shaped rather than received.
  • Presents program information to key stakeholders to gain buy-in, and builds alignment and influences design decisions across HR and the business without formal authority over the contributors involved.
  • Owns the project schedule: sets and manages timelines, forms and leads the day-to-day activities of cross-functional project teams, holds contributors to their commitments, escalates early when a date is at risk, and ensures proper quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Confirms alignment between program owner expectations and project goals throughout design, seeks feedback from stakeholders as the work progresses, and incorporates it into subsequent iterations.
  • Tailors enterprise programs to meet the needs of our global business units to ensure programs will resonate with all cultures and geographies that make up the Bechtel enterprise.
  • Collaborates with colleagues across HR, including Communities of Expertise, People Operations, and HR Business Partners, and ensures seamless transition of work responsibility from the program design team to program delivery within People Operations and our global business units.
  • Utilizes various data collection methodologies to help inform the design and development of talent management programs.
  • Ensures a diversity, inclusion, and engagement lens is integrated into all talent management processes and systems.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Project management skills: ability to plan and execute complex projects on time and with high quality. Demonstrated experience leading project teams to accomplish talent management priorities for an organization.
  • Influence without authority: earns credibility with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts, negotiates scope and trade-offs, and builds consensus across competing priorities.
  • Customer orientation: recognizes that the program owner defines success, elicits requirements rigorously, manages expectations transparently, and delivers to what was agreed.
  • Coachability and continuous improvement: receives direct feedback well, incorporates it quickly and visibly, and actively looks for ways to improve both the product and the process that produced it.
  • Leadership skills: capable of motivating and leading a team of individuals from diverse backgrounds and geographies.
  • Problem-solving skills: excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and address issues that arise during the project.
  • Change management skills: adept at managing change, including the ability to anticipate and manage the impact of the project on the organization's culture and structure. Previous experience managing organizational change for medium to large cultural change efforts.
  • Analytical skills: ability to analyze and interpret data, both qualitative and quantitative, to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Technical skills: good understanding of the HR function and related technologies and tools, such as HR information systems (HRIS) and project management software.
  • Working knowledge of a matrix organizational structure.

You will thrive in this role if you are energized by:

  • Turning a broad ambition into a scoped plan, then adjusting as the picture sharpens
  • Moving a group toward a decision through credibility rather than authority
  • Owning a date and driving the work across people who do not report to you
  • Feedback that redirects your work, and using it to make the next version better
  • Handing a program owner something that fits what they actually needed

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Optional disability and supplemental insurance options
  • Generous paid time off (160 hours annually, accrued 6.16 hours per pay period)
  • Nine paid holidays
  • Paid parental leave
  • Discretionary bonuses
  • 401K plan with matching and profit-sharing components

Pay

Salary range: $140,800 - $203,700 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)
