About the role
The ATS Systems Engineering Department seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to support the next generation of Air Traffic Control by replacing the FAA's aging legacy weather systems with a Next Generation Weather solution. This position requires occasional domestic travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform networking and integration activities to support development, maintenance, and deployment of the system
- Manage and/or generate systems engineering related documentation of legacy and newly developed products
- Support the planning, execution and documenting of formal qualification tests
- Support other engineering staff with system engineering related technical issues
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of prior experience in systems engineering, with experience in containerization technologies (ex. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
- SSL/TLS Certificate Management experience
- Experience with Red Hat Linux 9.x
- Experience with Systems Integration and Test and best practices
- Prior experience supporting a US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) government contract
- Prior ATC program work experience, including NWP program experience
- Experience with Agile Development Processes
- Experience with AI/Machine Learning, Modeling and Simulation Applications, Agile/Scrum, and Atlassian Jira/Confluence
- Earned Value Management System (EVMS) familiarity
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts
- Must be willing to obtain FAA clearance
