Senior Systems Analyst 1, Full Time, Days
About the Role
Senior Systems Analysts gather and analyze information to develop and modify data processing systems across a variety of subject matter fields. The role focuses on defining problems and systems objectives, documenting fact-finding, analyzing results, ensuring cost-effective recommendations, and preparing formal reports and presentations. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with application programmers to define system and program specifications, ensuring thorough understanding of requirements, and leading teams in the implementation of major systems. The position requires technical judgment, initiative, and strong communication skills to integrate management information and forecasting systems.
Supervision is provided by a technical superior who reviews work for desired outcomes and assists with analysis and user communications as needed.
Responsibilities
- Meet with management and supervisory personnel to define requirements for analytical studies, evaluate needs, and align objectives with systems solutions.
- Plan and conduct fact-finding interviews to gather information, applying current technology to solve problems and define design objectives.
- Prepare system specifications, develop modification plans, testing, and conversion strategies.
- Coordinate with programming staff to define system and program specifications.
- Supervise team preparation of studies, including information gathering and systems proposals.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of advanced computer software, hardware, programming languages, and modern peripheral equipment.
- Apply knowledge of symbolic logic, deductive reasoning, mathematics, probability theory, and business statistics.
- Interpret diagrammatic representations of workflow with spatial perception.
- Work with precision to establish accuracy standards.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
- Maintain effective working relationships with interdepartmental and intradepartmental personnel.
- Display leadership skills in a cooperative manner.

- Follow and perform all related unit-specific policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Valid license or certification as needed for the job or specialty.
