About the role
The Senior Superintendent is responsible for field operations on assigned project(s), ensuring construction is safe, timely, profitable, and ethical in accordance with contract documents, design, budget, and schedule. This role directly supervises field craft labor and non-craft field personnel while complying with all federal, state, and local laws.
Responsibilities
- Oversee field operations to ensure safe, timely, and profitable project delivery.
- Supervise field craft labor and non-craft field personnel.
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, design, budget, and schedule.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Foster a strong safety and QA/QC culture on-site.
- Schedule and prioritize construction activities.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation procedures.
- Mentor and develop talent within the team.
- Quickly diagnose and correct issues on problem projects.
- For NYC roles: Demonstrate knowledge of DOB’s technical reports and Chapter 33.
Requirements
- 8+ years actively creating a Safety and QA/QC culture.
- 5+ years in a top leadership position for multiple projects.
- 15+ years of building and construction experience.
- 15+ years of experience scheduling and prioritizing activities.
- 10+ years of experience identifying and managing risk and mitigation procedures.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
- Experience stepping into problem projects and setting corrective direction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar or 8 years of equivalent experience plus 10 years of relevant prior experience.
