Senior Superintendent

About the role
The Senior Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned and ensures the project/area is constructed in a safe, timely, profitable, and ethical manner, in accordance with contract documents, design, budget, and schedule and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. He/she directly supervises field craft labor and non-craft field personnel.
Responsibilities
- Actively create and maintain a Safety and QA/QC culture
- Serve in a top leadership position for multiple projects
- Apply 15+ years of building and construction experience (for NYC roles: knowledge of the DOB’s technical reports and Chapter 33)
- Schedule and prioritize activities
- Identify and address risk and mitigation procedures
- Mentor and develop talent
- Step into problem projects, quickly identify concerns, and set direction for correction
Requirements
- 8+ years actively creating a Safety and QA/QC culture
- 5+ years in a top leadership position for multiple projects
- 15+ years of building and construction experience
- 15+ years experience scheduling and prioritizing activities
- 10+ years experience identifying and dealing with risk and mitigation procedures
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop talent
- Proven experience stepping into problem projects and quickly identifying issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar, or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
