About the role
A Senior Superintendent at BOWA plays a key role in client communication and satisfaction during the production phase of each residential remodeling project. As the field representative, the Senior Superintendent manages day-to-day construction activities on one or more jobsites.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and oversee building department inspections
- Supervise BOWA employees and subcontractors on a daily basis
- Estimate material list quantities, coordinate with the Production Manager for pricing, and ensure efficient use and return of unused materials
- Communicate daily with clients, relaying important information to the Production Manager
- Stay informed about the project as a whole, including plans, change orders, and specifications
- Maintain a two-week future schedule of jobsite events, including material delivery dates, daily work, manpower needs, and subcontractor work
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the Production Manager, subcontractors, clients, and architects as needed
- Supervise jobsite safety, cleanliness, security, and protection from damage during construction
- Keep plans updated with changes and disseminate this information to employees and subcontractors
- Maintain a jobsite file folder containing all job-related information (work orders, project specifications, change orders, subcontractor contracts, purchase orders, technical specs, architectural details, and schedules)
- Attend quarterly training meetings with Project Managers and Production Managers
- Use a computer as directed by the VP of Production and/or Production Manager
- Perform Lead Carpenter duties, including:
- Direct and manage other carpenters on site
- Complete carpentry work as needed with "tools on"
- Own and maintain appropriate tools to complete the job
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise Superintendents, Carpenters, and Subcontractors
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in remodeling-related work
- Proficient carpentry skills
- Strong communication abilities
- Reliable transportation; punctuality is required
Schedule
Official work hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Additional hours are occasionally necessary.
