About the Role
AECOM Hunt has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Superintendent for our project in Elk Grove, CA. This role involves providing overall on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects. You will be responsible for organizing and directing construction activities, ensuring compliance with design/specifications, timely completion, budget adherence, and quality standards.
You may serve as the primary client contact for day-to-day jobsite activities or coordinate with the client’s resident representatives. This role requires close collaboration with administrative field staff, field management, and the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site administrative and technical management for construction projects.
- Organize and direct construction activities within assigned areas, which may include multi-discipline projects.
- Ensure jobsite operations comply with design/specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Interface with administrative field staff, field management, and the Project Manager.
- Serve as the primary client contact or coordinate with client representatives for day-to-day jobsite activities.
- Additional duties may be assigned based on project scope and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a similar curriculum.
- 8 years of relevant construction Superintendent experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
- Experience working with a large general contractor.
- Construction experience in the following industries: airport/aviation, sports arena/stadium, or data center.
- 8 years of experience as a construction superintendent.
- Experience working on large (mega) construction projects.
- Experience with California building/construction codes.
Physical Demands
The role requires physical stamina and mobility, including:
- Climbing ladders and stairs, using personnel hoists, and moving through various terrain and active construction zones.
- Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Using hands to handle tools and materials.
- Activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Work Environment
This role primarily works on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common. Conditions may include:
- Proximity to heavy machinery and elevated work areas.
- Exposure to airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks.
- Moderate to high noise levels depending on the construction phase.
- Requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and remain alert to ensure safety.

- This position is not hybrid nor remote; it requires on-site presence.
- Motor Vehicle Records will be reviewed for positions with driving responsibilities.
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
Pay
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $113,304.48 to $209,613.29 annually.
