About the Role

This position provides subcontract support to one or more business units, including source evaluation, selection, and terms and conditions for procuring materials, equipment, and services. The role involves issuing and administering subcontract awards in alignment with company policy and department procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Select or recommend subcontractors, issue awards, and administer resulting subcontracts.
  • Respond to complex and diverse inquiries, developing innovative solutions as needed.
  • Participate in cost and pricing reviews with program management and customer representatives.
  • Prepare, analyze, and evaluate bids and proposals to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Identify subcontract issues and lead the development of solutions.
  • Negotiate and modify standard and non-standard subcontracts, including non-disclosure and teaming agreements.
  • Advise management on contractual rights and obligations, and interpret terms and conditions.
  • Serve as the primary subcontract administrator on assigned subcontracts, making internal and external presentations as required.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and their impact on subcontracts.
  • Provide direction, training, and leadership to assigned professional staff, including participation in staff selection, development, and training.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and company obligations.
  • Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in supply chain management, contract administration, or a related discipline, plus fifteen or more years of progressive professional experience. Equivalent experience in purchasing, subcontract, or contract administration may substitute for education.
  • Comprehensive understanding of acquisition principles, theories, concepts, and regulations, with broad application of those practices and standards.
  • Ability to counsel management, provide leadership, and communicate new concepts in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate multiple work phases and determine appropriate approaches at the task or project level.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers, and external parties.
  • Proficient computer skills; working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, representing the organization as a primary contact on subcontract matters.
  • Capable of providing leadership to less experienced professionals on projects.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Professional certification in subcontract administration is desired.

Pay

Salary range: $116,480 – $208,505.

Schedule

Full-time.
