This leadership role is responsible for overseeing structural engineering standards, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineering staff, ensuring quality assurance, and leading structural design efforts from concept through construction. The ideal candidate has extensive experience designing building structural systems, strong leadership abilities, and expertise in structural engineering software and building codes. Job Roles And Responsibilities Lead the development and continuous improvement of structural engineering standards and documentation.Establish and maintain structural design, drafting, and quality assurance standards.Serve as the primary technical authority for structural engineering matters.Lead peer reviews, quality control, and design reviews.Mentor and develop structural engineering staff.Identify training and professional development opportunities for team members.Assist with interviewing and evaluating structural engineering candidates.Provide technical guidance and resolve complex structural engineering issues.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.Lead structural design throughout planning, design, and construction phases.Design structural systems using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.Respond to contractor RFIs and construction-related technical questions.Ensure compliance with building codes and engineering standards.Support value engineering and continuous process improvement initiatives. Qualifications And Certifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus or a related engineering discipline.Professional Engineer (PE) License required.Structural Engineer (SE) License preferred but not required.Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience after graduation.Extensive experience designing structural systems using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and value engineering principles.Experience leading structural engineering teams and mentoring junior engineers.Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, and structural analysis software.Experience with Enercalc, RISA, or similar structural design software preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
