Job Overview
The Senior Strategy Analyst will join the Strategy team within the Strategic Planning & Innovation division. This role involves leading value-based initiatives, collaborating with various stakeholders, and supporting the Assistant Director with contractor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of value-based initiatives led by SPI.
- Provide oversight and project management of assigned value-based workstreams.
- Research and monitor health care industry developments on alternative payment model evidence and best practices.
- Develop policy briefings and pitch decks related to the development and implementation of value-based payment strategies.
- Support evidence-based decision-making by independently forming clear research questions and collaboratively conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses.
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop value-based policy and programs at TennCare.
- Support the Assistant Director with contractor management duties, including tracking, evaluating, and summarizing performance of value-based payment supporting contractors.
- Collaborate with data analysts on the Innovation team to leverage Episodes of Care program cost and outcomes data.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, integrating stakeholder perspectives into actionable strategy.
- Work independently and within teams with minimal supervision to drive projects and assigned workstreams forward.
- Lead various routine meetings to manage workstreams and internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and/or provide strategic consulting for special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public policy, health policy, public health, public administration, business administration or a related field and 3 years of experience in policy interpretation and application or similar work.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Desirable Qualifications
- A master's degree in public health, healthcare administration, public policy, economics, behavioral health or related field.
- OR a bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare administration, behavioral health, or related field AND two (2) years or more of full-time relevant professional experience.
- Experience in management consulting or health policy strongly desired.
- Experience working for a state Medicaid agency.
- Experience with value-based payment programs or alternative payment models.
- Experience in health care delivery (hospital, physician practice, etc.).
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in process improvement.
