Senior Strategy Analyst
About the role
Sur La Table is poised for significant growth over the next three years, and this role exists to provide the strategic and analytical horsepower behind that trajectory. As Sr. Analyst of Strategy, you will partner with the Head of Strategy, President, CFO, and Leadership Team to shape the company's strategic direction—then roll up your sleeves and bring it to life across long-range planning, real estate, functional strategy, and business intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Strategy, President, CFO, and Leadership Team to develop the Long-Range Plan and Annual Operating Plan, ensuring Tech and AI Roadmaps align to strategy, and track in-year progress against core initiatives and KPIs
- Support the development of a multi-year Real Estate strategy grounded in analytical rigor, customer insights, and brand positioning—track the pipeline and lease renewals, partner with Finance on new lease proformas, review lease terms, and lead communications with construction and store operations teams
- Drive strategic and analytical rigor across functions such as Merchandising category-level LRPs, Store Ops P&L dashboarding, and Digital customer journey mapping
- Partner cross-functionally to build the growth strategy and execution roadmap for expanding service offerings including cooking classes, knife sharpening, and registry
- Build business cases, analyze company, customer, and external data, assess consumer insights and competitive benchmarks, and create key decision dashboards to support critical business decisions
- Identify key consumer, competitive, vendor, and market trends and translate insights into actionable go-to-market implications and recommendations
- Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the President and Leadership Team through ad hoc support—board decks, partnership presentations, townhall materials, survey analysis, and project management
Requirements
- 2+ years in a strategy consulting role with a focus on revenue growth and/or private equity diligence
- Retail experience with a brand- and consumer-first mindset
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams
- Analytical rigor and financial modeling expertise; advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Heavy user of AI tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Strong communication skills, executive presence, and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across levels
- Intellectual curiosity that drives an innovative, problem-solving mindset
Qualifications
Required qualifications include 2+ years in a strategy consulting role with a focus on revenue growth and/or private equity diligence, retail experience with a brand- and consumer-first mindset, strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams, analytical rigor and financial modeling expertise; advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, heavy user of AI tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, strong communication skills, executive presence, and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across levels, intellectual curiosity that drives an innovative, problem-solving mindset.

$105,000 - $110,000 a year
