About the role

The Senior Staff TLM, Electrical Engineering - HPE role at Aurora involves leading a team of electrical engineers in the development of electronics for LiDAR, Compute, or various hardware products. This includes gathering requirements, defining hardware architectures, and delivering products that meet performance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of electrical engineers in the development of LiDAR, Compute, or various hardware products
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to gather requirements, define hardware architectures, and deliver products that meet performance and product metrics
  • Guide and manage the team to build, integrate, test, and debug LiDAR, Compute, or various hardware products using software tools and advanced test equipment
  • Mature processes for electrical engineering product development that adhere to safety, execution, and quality requirements
  • Partner with mechanical, operations, and validation teams to ensure high-quality electrical designs are developed and manufactured, including supporting test infrastructure development
  • Work closely with program management to manage project deliverables
  • Work closely with supply chain and new product introduction to identify and qualify suppliers, parts, and processes
  • Plan and promote a forward-looking outlook to hire and develop the team to meet future product roadmaps

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of industry experience in developing complex electrical hardware
  • 4+ years of direct, personnel leadership of electrical engineering teams, including hiring, establishing best practices, managing performance, and growth
  • Expertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high-speed signaling, grounding, analog electronics
  • High proficiency and ability to analyze systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints
  • Extensive experience with hardware productization: system, board, and chip-level implementation
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to capture schematic designs, manage PCB layout, and leverage power/signal simulation/emulation input
  • Experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and E-loads

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with LiDAR, Compute, or various hardware products
  • Knowledge of automotive requirements, safety frameworks (ISO26262), and qualification processes
  • Programming and scripting (C++, Python, or equivalent) experience
  • FPGA/ASIC Design experience

Benefits

Aurora offers a competitive base salary range of $197,000,000 to $315,000 per year, along with an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits. Aurora operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring employees to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
