For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Senior Staff Attorney for Insurance Defense to support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making.

About the role

You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex, high-stakes litigation autonomously
  • Conduct thorough legal research and develop defense strategies independently
  • Draft and prepare comprehensive pleadings, motions, and discovery without supervision
  • Communicate effectively with clients, the court, and opposing counsel while ensuring timely updates
  • Manage the efficient and proficient resolution of assigned cases
  • Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials and hearings effectively
  • Research and argue appellate briefs in various courts

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from accredited law school; licensed to practice in Texas state and federal courts
  • Over 7 years of experience in civil tort matters, particularly in personal injury and commercial automobile accidents
  • First or second chair trial experience preferred, with documented outcomes
  • Strong legal research and comprehensive writing capabilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on prioritization and time management
  • Proficiency in technology, with the ability to adapt quickly to new software
  • Familiar with the legal landscape in Harris County and surrounding areas

Pay

$132,400 – $198,600 annually
