Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

As part of a dynamic, collaborative team and reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in various aspects of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Financial statement preparation and analysis
• Creation of periodic reporting for senior management
• Monthly closing entries and reconciliations
• High level review of various reports and processes to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Financial and internal control-related projects
• Administration of a broad range of other accounting functions, as needed
• Financial projections and associated research
• Documenting procedures and designing processes that ensure compliance and efficiency

Requirements

• An experienced accounting professional with strong business acumen who seeks to understand the Company’s goals and how their work contributes to those objectives
• A natural leader who enjoys helping others and is valued for their ability to explain concepts clearly and partner on projects or to resolve issues
• A professional whose work history reflects stability, steady growth and development

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum 3.25 GPA, along with 5-7 years’ work experience in a financial accounting or analyst role within a corporate or professional environment
• Candidates with a CPA, relevant experience in public accounting or the Banking industry are preferred
