About the role

This role requires a Business Analyst with strong experience in Property and Casualty, specifically in Homeowners and Dwelling products. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing and enhancing policies, with a deep understanding of insurance underwriting rules and policy lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Duck Creek Policy initiatives.
  • Create BRD, FRD, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and traceability documents.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, underwriting team, product owner, developers, and QA teams to translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
  • Support end-to-end delivery of policy product enhancements, rollouts, and regulatory changes.
  • Contribute to Agile Scrum delivery models, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and collaboration across distributed teams.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, requirement review, and validation for policy product enhancements and regulatory changes.
  • Provide UAT support, defect triage, production validation, and requirement clarification during testing and release cycles.
  • Collaborate with system integration and downstream insurance systems, such as billing, claims, reporting, and data interfaces.
  • Use tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Excel for requirement tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support requirement validation, reporting discussions, and troubleshooting using basic SQL and data analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, manage stakeholders, and solve problems using analytical thinking and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

  • Strong hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in Duck Creek Policy implementations and enhancements.
  • Deep knowledge of Homeowners and Dwelling insurance products, including coverages, deductibles, endorsements, eligibility, and underwriting rules.
  • Experience in Agile Scrum delivery models, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and collaboration across distributed teams.
  • Basic exposure to system integration and downstream insurance systems.
  • Knowledge of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Excel for requirement tracking, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Basic understanding of SQL and data analysis for requirement validation, reporting discussions, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven success in translating business needs into clear functional requirements and supporting end-to-end delivery.
  • Experience in requirement review, validation, and gap analysis for policy product enhancements and regulatory changes.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with business and technical teams.
